COVID-19 & SICKNESS POLICIES
Playhouse West-Philadelphia is a safe place to train! We are pleased to report that since returning to in-studio classes on July 1, 2020, we have had zero Covid-19 transmissions from within our school.
Over 90% of our students, and 100% of staff have been vaccinated. Therefore we no longer require anyone to wear a mask to class or to any or our events.
We do encourage our students to receive the Covid-19 Vaccine. It not only helps keep people safe in class, it is also required to work on most professional sets.
After having to close down our school and turn to online only classes in March of 2020, Playhouse West-Philadelphia reopened it's in-studio acting classes on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. With the cooperation of our students, we successfully instituted our safety measures, including installing a medical grade HEPA air purifier in our theater, in an effort to keep our students, auditors and other visitors safe.
GUIDELINES
1. If a student or staff member is exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, please refrain from returning to class until receiving a negative Covid-test, or a 10 day self-isolation is completed, or you have 4 days with no symptoms. The student must report this to a staff member immediately, so other students can be alerted, as well as to any rehearsal partners.
2. If a student becomes sick with Covid-19, that student must take a hiatus from the school for at least 10 days after a positive test or diagnosis, or until showing no symptoms for 4 days.
3. No student should attend class if showing any signs of illness, including fever, sore throat, cough, muscle or body aches, feeling sick or run down, loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath.
4. Personal responsibility is paramount to the success of returning to our in-studio classes, and any infraction of the guidelines and procedures will be taken seriously. Any student who comes to class sick will be sent home immediately.
